There was a slight increase in the number of voters this month with 46 people casting their votes. Most categories had easy winners, but two (Awardsmaster's Challenge and Long) were very close. Seven members won the 15 awards available this month.

I think that anyone following the nominations during the month, would have spotted the favourite easily. David's gem really stood out.

David was 12 points clear by the 12 hour mark and I expected that he would be miles ahead of the pack by the end of the competition. However, he ended up just over twenty points clear at the end, with Tony well ahead of the rest of the field. The third place award was well-contested with View looking likely to win, until a fast-finishing Mey sneaked past him at the end by one point.

David's win was his second for the year and his 78th ever.

This category started out quite closely with Scott and Mey tied halfway through Day One. Scott was clear by four points by the end of the first day, eight ahead after Day Two and cruised home to win by 14 points.

Scott was 18 points ahead of the pack by 12 hours. This turned out to be the same as his winning margin, with View finishing well for second place.

A very good month for Scott with two wins. This brings his total up to 21 awards and gives him a clear 14th place on the All Time Table.

This was definitely the closest category of the month.

The challenge, to anagram "the Twentieth Winter Olympic Games", was deceptively tough and I think we all found it difficult to come up with a brilliant anagram.

Tony, Paul and Toby were the three main contenders with just two points separating them at the 12 hour mark. Tony and Paul were tied at the 24 and 48 hour marks. Paul appeared to break clear on the last day and looked like he had won. However, at the close of voting, the discovery of a duplicate vote altered the positions, with Tony coming in just one point ahead.

A great month for Tony with three awards. This brings his career total to 30 wins and moves him into the hallowed Top Ten on the All Time Table. Congratulations, Tony.

There were five entries here this month, including two from Mey.

The winner was always likely to be either Mike or Mey. Mike was nicely ahead after 12 hours and extended his lead to win by 38 points at the end. Mey picked up second and third places. Benjamin Randall performed creditably with this first ever entry in our competition, coming in fourth, but just eight points behind Mey.

Mike, of course, is a frequent winner in this category. He has won 34 awards altogether, mainly in the Special Category (but with some good short ones as well).

An outstanding month for Mey with six awards, giving him nine wins in just two month (most of us would be content with that number in a year).
