44 voters - a little down on last month's record number of voters, but it was the seventh best result ever. There were nine people who won awards this month, with two winning multiple awards. There were a couple of close categories, but in most the winner was evident from Day One.

This month there were some further improvements in the Forum, with many new features added by Toby, in particular the ability to review posts before sending them, and improved dealing with incorrect noms.Toby has also improved the setting up the voting pages. The amount of work that I do to get voting ready is a small fraction of what it was six months ago.

General Category - 1st three win an award. The likely first and second place winners were evident by the end of the first day, and the interest then focused on who would pick up third place to win an award. Mey led from the beginning and always kept about 5-6 points clear of Jesse. Dean Mayer, who returned to Forum last month with many excellent anagrams, and Richard Grantham fought it out for third place. Dean squeezed home by just two points for his third ever win.

Entertainment Category This was very very close, particularly near the end of the competition, in which there were several great anagrams. David Bourke led by one point at the end of the first day, moving six clear after two days. Wordminer narrowed the gap to three points with 24 hours to go, then tied on the penultimate vote, and finally won by a point with the last vote. This is Wordminer's seventh win this year and is now close to entering the Top Twenty.

Topical Category David's narrow defeat on the finishing line in Entertainment was somewhat offset by a solid win here with a top anagram. David led by nine after 24 hours and pulled ahead to win by 15 points at the end. 46 awards for David over the last five years. Nice to see him back in the thick of things.

Rude Category Only five nominations on the final list here this month, but it was perilously close throughout with the first three leading at various times. It was a tie between David and Jesse at the end of Day One, then David led by two by the end of the next day. Day Three saw Adrian jump into the lead by two points, only to have Jesse score the best on the final day for a two point win.

Peoples' Names Category No surprises here. Mey's anagram was in a class of its own. The 16 point led on Day One, increased to 23 with the last day starting. Adrian did well to claw it back to a 14 point deficit by the end of the event.

Other Names Category Mey won the Name Double this month very convincingly. Mey's win in Other Names was even more impressive. The 28 point margin was the largest this month.

Medium Category I created my anagram quite early in the month and, although I was proud of it and rated in a good chance, I watched as it was joined by other good anagrams, especially David's brilliant anagram of the latest addition to the Royal Family. I started well with a ten point lead, only to watch David get closer and closer. However, the final day's voters smiled benignly on me and I came in with a 14 point win. My seventh win of the year, gives me 74 wins all-up.

Awardsmaster's Challenge I think I will organise this more frequently. It was a great contest and the were many different slants on anagramming this phrase: "The fortieth anniversary of the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy". I decided to go with a poignant theme and thought that it had a serious chance, but Jesse's entry managed to capture the conspiracy theories as well as the sadness very elegantly. He kept a steady lead throughout. An impressive three wins for Jesse this month, giving him 16 wins all up and leap-frogging to equal 11th place with David A,.Green. Thank you to Richard Grantham for pointing out the acrostic in Adrian's anagram.

Long Category Five entries here this month, which is around the optimal level. Many more than that can put voters off reading them all. Mey was never in doubt here, finishing Day One with a 23 point lead, which increased to 30 points by the end of the competition.

Special Category - 1st three win an award. Six nominations here, all very different from each other, and all showing the ingenuity, imagination, and skill that is found in the members of our group. Mike's random sonnet generator demonstrated his dual talents as a great poetic anagrammer and his mathematical ability, and it was not surprising that he led clearly from the beginning to the end. This was consecutive wins for Mike in the Special Category. All-up, he has won 23 awards. Mey's three witty variations on a Shel Silverstein poem was in second place the whole way. Another brilliant month for Mey with five wins, moving his grand total to 143 awards. Third place was close with David Green's eye chart, just pushing out Zoran and Jesse combined Numerograms entry. David has won 17 awards moving him up to equal 11th position.

The Anagrammy Team's Choice for the Best Anagram of a non-winning author. There were four contenders for this award. They included Richard Grantham's General (just two points off an award), Richard Brodie's third place in Entertainment, Adrian Hickford's runnerup in Peoples Names, and Matjaz's second place in Other Names. Given that Richard's went closest to a win, that it is the shortest of the above, and is a very good anagram, I decide on his. Richard Grantham with: Honestly = On the sly.
