60 votes again! Thank you to all our voters. It was a month dominated by Mey Kraus with an amazing seven awards. This equals Richard Grantham's record set in August 2000. Contrary to rumour, we will not be calling future May awards the Mey Anagrammies, as Mey does not always get his highest scores in May each year. He did in 2002 with five awards, but not in any other year. Well done, Mey. |
With 13 starters this was one of the smallest fields for a long time. However what it lacked in numbers, it made up in quality. Mey opened a small lead halfway through the first day with Matthew O'Dempsey (mod) trailing a short distance back and a large group battling for third place. The first two places remained solid, but the third place was close all the way. Ellie, Rosie, Adrian and Rick were within a point after 12 hours. Deano came into contention after 24 hours and looked a good chance after 48 hours. However Adrian came from well back in the pack to to snatch third on the Final Day. This was Matthew's second award and Adrian's 56th. |

I had a faint hope that I might win here and I led briefly on Day One. David Green had had two entries in Other Names, so I moved one to Entertainment and did him a big favour. He was leading by a small margin at the end of the first day and held off some strong challenges from Mey to win by six points. This was David's 19th winner. |

A category where Mey did not have an entry! Tony and Mr Pus were well placed at 12 hours, but Ellie took over the lead at the end of the first day. At the end of Day Two the three of them were within two points of each other. Tony pulled out the stops and jumped into the lead for a narrow win. This was Tony's tenth award. |

What a treat we have had this year with some ingenious and inventive anagrams from Mike Keith, the author of Anagram Artist software. And what an artist he is with anagrams and their interface with mathematics. No surprises again that Mike won clearly. As in previous months, Mey and David came along for the ride with their usual high standard offerings and picked up the minor placings. Mike has won 29 awards and David has 70. |

There was one standout contender here this month. The entry was always in contention for an award and missed by just two points, and it made great use of keywords. The unanimous winner was:
This was Ellie's second win. |
