Another great turnout and a new record of 54 voters. Great to see a lot of new voters and some "older" voters who have come and voted after an absence.

There were some exciting contests this month in quite a number of categories that I will outline below.

The Anagrammy Awards reached the six year mark with the current competition. The awards and the website have come a long way in that time thanks to the help from my colleagues, Richard Grantham and Toby Gottfried, and to many others who have helped in various ways or have just been there for support.

The success of the Awards can be seen not only by the continuing high standard of the anagrams, but also in a very objective way by the number of voters. You may never have visited our Voter Numbers Page before, but a quick look will show the trend of voting over the 6 years.

This was one of the most memorable contests that I can recall in the last six years.

The competition among the top six here was very intense, with nearly all of them having the lead at one time or other. Zoran and palusch shared the lead after 24 hours, then Jesse opened a five point lead over JB at the halfway mark. Day Three's end saw Jesse still leading from JB and palusch. The Final Day witnessed Zoran jump from 5th to the lead, beating Jesse by one point.

Zoran's win was his second this year and gives him 15 awards all-up and equal 14th place on the All-Time Table. Palusch's third place here gave him his second ever award, the last one being back in 1999. Nice to have him back.

This was another brilliant and very close category, with a half dozen strong contenders.

Toby led out by one point on Day One, but Adrian took the Day Two lead with three sharing 2nd place. The logjam continued into Day Three with Adrian still leading, but three points covered the top four. The Final Day saw Toby surge and sneak in by two points.

This was Toby's 2nd win this year, giving him a total of ten awards.

This has become very popular in recent time and will be a more regular feature than it has in the past.

My prediction here was David's offering which was one of the first entires. However, it was Richard Brodie's delightfully apt version that took an early lead and kept it for the first three days. The Final Day saw David pick up 16 points to Richard's seven, to sail past him.

David has had three wins this year and 51 altogether.

The competition was intense with Mey and Richard sharing the lead all the way right down to the dead heat finish.

This award for Richard, gave him 136 monthly wins. Mey's three wins keeps him well clear at 154 awards.

There were two runners-up that Richard and I strongly considered for this award. Both were great anagrams and both were leading at some point in time. They were JB's lovely anagram in General and Richard Brodie's near winner in the Challenge.
